Project Overview
The Ocearch Research and Operations Center brought together a distinctive mix of public-facing and scientific programming on the waterfront in Jacksonville, Florida. Valued at $7 million and owned by Jacksonville University, the facility encompassed public education and meeting spaces, ship operations infrastructure, dockage for multiple research vessels, a state-of-the-art marine life research laboratory with integrated data and academic resource management, and on-site housing for researchers and crew. The center was designed to host visitors and aspiring scientists from around the world through interactive community programming. The client engaged PRESWERX to build the full pursuit package for this competitive selection.

Client Challenges
The client faced a pursuit that required communicating a highly technical, multifaceted scope to a university owner with broad community ambitions:
The project combined maritime operations, research science, public programming, and residential uses into a single facility, requiring a unified visual and narrative strategy that could make the scope feel coherent, not overwhelming.
Visualizing a one-of-a-kind facility without a clear built precedent demanded compelling renderings and animations to convey design intent before a single foundation was poured.
A competitive selection process required the client's team to differentiate itself through a polished proposal and a live presentation that translated deep technical expertise into an accessible, persuasive story.
Interview preparation was critical to ensure every team member could deliver a confident, consistent message in front of a diverse selection panel.
Together, these challenges called for a coordinated pursuit strategy that could connect a complex technical scope to a community-centered vision.

Scope of Work
PRESWERX produced a comprehensive pursuit package tailored to the specific program and stakeholder audience of the Ocearch Research and Operations Center. The team developed a full written proposal that framed the client's qualifications and approach in the context of Jacksonville University's community and research mission. High-quality architectural renderings and animations gave the selection panel a clear picture of the future facility, capturing both the technical precision of the research laboratory and the welcoming character of the public education spaces. PRESWERX also built a structured presentation with the client's team and delivered focused presentation coaching sessions to prepare them for the live interview.

PRESWERX Approach
PRESWERX treated this pursuit as a storytelling challenge: a technically complex program needed to be packaged as a coherent, community-centered vision for a university audience.
The team studied the OCEARCH mission and Jacksonville University's goals to build a narrative arc connecting the client's technical strengths to the owner's vision for public education and scientific impact.
Renderings and animations were developed to highlight the experiential qualities of the facility, making the marine laboratory and public spaces tangible for a selection panel that included non-technical stakeholders.
Presentation coaching sessions focused on message clarity, panel engagement, and consistent delivery across all team members, ensuring no one walked into the interview room unprepared.
The result was a pursuit package that positioned the client as a team that understood the full scope of what OCEARCH represented, not just the construction.
Results Delivered
PRESWERX delivered a complete pursuit package held to a high standard of visual quality and narrative precision:
The proposal clearly communicated the client's qualifications and approach in language aligned with Jacksonville University's mission, giving the team a strong written foundation for the selection.
Architectural renderings and animations brought the research center to life, giving the selection panel a compelling preview of a facility type with no direct built equivalent in the region.
Presentation coaching gave the client's team a rehearsed, confident delivery strategy, closing the gap between deep technical expertise and clear communication under live interview conditions.
The client entered the selection prepared to present a unified story, backed by pursuit materials that reflected the ambition and complexity of the Ocearch Research and Operations Center.
