Project Overview
The East Boynton Water Treatment Plant Upgrade was a facilities planning and infrastructure improvement project for the City of Boynton Beach, Florida. The scope evaluated treatment options and upgrades across the existing facility, including sand and granular filtration pretreatment, nanofiltration membranes, electrical infrastructure from 13kV to 480V, Motor Control Center equipment, and SCADA and automation controls. The work was driven by the need to meet emerging contaminant regulations and prepare the facility for evolving potable water standards. The client engaged PRESWERX to produce renderings and animations that would communicate the proposed improvements visually for the pursuit.
Client Challenges
The client needed to communicate a technically dense water treatment upgrade to a municipal owner in a way that was accessible and compelling. The core challenges included:
Translating complex treatment process upgrades, including nanofiltration membranes, MCC equipment, and SCADA automation, into visuals that a nontechnical municipal audience could evaluate.
Conveying the full scope of a phased infrastructure improvement spanning treatment processes, electrical systems, and control systems within a single, coherent narrative.
Differentiating the team's approach and technical expertise in a competitive pursuit for a public utilities client.
These challenges required visual communication that simplified technical complexity without undercutting the depth of the engineering work proposed.
Scope of Work
PRESWERX produced a suite of renderings and animations tailored to support the pursuit of the East Boynton Water Treatment Plant Upgrade. The deliverables were developed to make the proposed treatment process improvements legible to a municipal owner audience, illustrating the facility's upgrade path across filtration systems, nanofiltration membranes, electrical infrastructure, and automation controls. Animations were used to communicate process flows and system interactions that static drawings could not convey effectively. Each visual was built around the specific scope of the East Boynton facility and aligned to the standards the City of Boynton Beach would expect for a potable water infrastructure engagement.

Calibrated all visuals to the City of Boynton Beach's perspective as a municipal water utility owner evaluating a long-term infrastructure investment.
